Highest-Paid Soccer Player in EPL

John Terry became the highest-paid player in the Premier League yesterday after signing a £35m deal with Chelsea.  The Blues and England captain agreed a whopping £135,000-a-week deal, surpassing Andriy-Shevchenko and Michael Ballack £130,000-a-week previous records.

Terry was delighted to finalise negotiations and has also obtained a written guarantee that no player will earn more than him for the duration of his five-year deal.

Defender Terry broke through the £100,000-a-week barrier in November 2005, but this latest increase is in line with his status as captain of the national team.
