EPL Results: Chelsea moved to second place while Liverpool slipped to third

Liverpool dropped to third place in the EPL results after held to a 1-1 draw at Wigan, while Chelsea moved to second after a 2-0 victory at Middlesbrough.

Liverpool dominated the match, but failed to capitalise on it.   Yossi Benayoun’s 41th minutes effort proved to be insufficient as they conceded a penalty nine minutes before final whistle.  Mido sent Liverpool’s custodian, Jose Reina the wrong way from the spot kick.

Chelsea title hope was given a boost after Salomon Kalou contributed a brace in the second-half.   On the other habd, Middlesbrough is still stuck in the relegation zone after 11 matches without a win.
