EPL Fixtures: Big Match - Arsenal versus Manchester United
It seems to be a battle of defence for the top-of-the-table match between Arsenal and Manchester United today. As both sides have very talented strikers, the result is likely to hinge on who will make fewer mistakes at defence. The attackers of Manchester United and Arsenal are doing their best to disrupt each other ahead of today clash at the Emirates Stadium. In-form Wayne Rooney has touted that Arsenal is simply not good enough to beat United to the title this season. Arsenal was 21 points behind the Champions United last season, and Rooney firmly believes that at best Gunners can hope for a smaller margin this season. Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor stated that his team-mate Fabregas is fantastic compared with United Ronaldo. While Ronaldo has scored 6 goals in this competition, Fabregas has already delivered 10 from midfield.
The Gunners has scored 22 goals in their unbeaten start to the season, 3 more than United. But they are facing a defence that has only conceded 4 times in 11 EPL matches. An eighth clean sheet will enhance the Red Devils chances of breaking Chelsea’s 2005 record of letting in just 15 goals in a season. United defender Vidic is confident that Arsenal will find it difficult to keep Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney under tabs, and amking sure that United’s back four do not make silly mistakes. It is however not an easy task to keep a clean sheet as the Gunners have scored in all their 17 games in all competitions and have not lost since April.
