EPL Results: Arsenal remains top, Everton sees RED

Kolo Toure, better known for his defensive skill, scored with a 30-m shot.  This laid the ground for Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Bolton and helped Gunners to remain at the summit of the EPL table.  For over an hour, it looks like Wenger’s side were in danger of dropping their first point at home ground this season.  Arsenal’s strikers were firing blanks.  It was at 68th minutes that the Jack of all trades, Toure showed the way to victory.  From a free-kick, Fabregas rolled the ball to Flamini, who linked it up to Toure.  Toure, who has previously played as midfielder and striker, then drilled the ball into the bottom corner.  Victory was sealed at 80th minutes when Walcott’s cross to Rosicky slot home from the edge of the 6-yard box.

At Goodison Park Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool, Everton saw red with referee Clattenberg’s decision to award two penalties to Liverpool and then denied them two.   Everton took the lead at 38th minutes after Sami Hypia was pressured into slicing into his own net.  On 54th minutes, Steven Gerrald was yanked down with a shirt-tug by Hibbert.   Dirk Kuyt took the spot kick for Liverpool.  He slot low to his right to level the score.  On 90th minutes, Everton’s midfielder Neville was sent off for parrying off a goal-bound effort.  From the spot kick again, Kuyt duplicated his shot and earned the Reds 3 points.
