EPL Fixtures: Manchester United v Wigan (Another 1-0 ?)

It looks likely that Manchester United is going to be burdened with the ‘1-0’ tag, after their 6 such wins in the last 8 games.  They are hosting Wigan tonight.  The Red Devils will be missing Michael Carrick, suffering from broken elbow.  They have a long injury list that includes Owen Hargreaves, Gary Neville, Darren Fletcher, Michael Silvestre and custodian Edwin van der Sar.

United will be hoping that Louis Saha can boost their scoring against struggling Wigan.  Their free-flowing attacking games have not been evident from the recent games.   The slim victories could potentially haunt them in the title race.   Super-subs Saha is its current ’top’ scorer with 2 goals.  Wayne Rooney has yet to find the net this EPL season.

The other match tonight between Aston Villa and West Ham is likely to go in favor of Villa.  They are dangerous at home, having won 3 of their 4 home matches.  Last Monday against Tottenham, they could have been the victor, but they allowed Spurs to level at 4-4.
